The Complete Coding Family includes Osmo Coding Awbie, Coding Jam and Coding Duo games.
With Osmo Coding Awbie, players can learn how to effectively use sequential thinking, parameters, loops, and conditionals, all of which are essential coding skills. We consider Coding Awbie the first, most basic level of programming in our Coding series of games.
Coding Jam is a creative coding product, and is the next level of sophistication of the three Coding games in the series. It expands on the Osmo Coding Language by adding six brand new Coding blocks, allowing players to explore even more advanced computational concepts like subroutines and nested repeats. Players snap together Coding blocks to create unique musical Jams, across over 18 different unique and exciting worlds.
Did you know that music is filled with patterns and rules? This makes music algorithmic, but also deeply creative. Millions of coders around the world are using code to create their invention, and we want to introduce that spirit of creativity to all aspiring young coders.
While you can use some of the blocks from Coding Awbie to sample the practice mode of Coding Jam, in order to unleash the full creative potential of Coding Jam, you will need its complete set of blocks. Blocks from Coding Jam will not work with Coding Awbie.
Coding Duo is the most sophisticated game of the three and uses two new blocks that enable the use of multiple chains/lines of code. To play it, you will need blocks from Coding Awbie, Coding Jam, as well as the Coding Duo blocks themselves. Duo blocks can now be purchased as part of our Coding Family Kit.
If you are a teacher in the US or Canada, you can purchase Duo blocks separately through our school quote page (click on the 'Request a quote' button at the top of the Schools page to access it: https://playosmo.com/en/schools/).
