You spoke and we listened!  Starting with the launch of Coding Jam in May 2017, we’re gradually transitioning all the Osmo games to these new containers. U.S. customers will see the new packaging first, followed by our international customers in the Fall 2017.

No, they are not interchangeable.  We recommend using the iPad reflector with the iPad Base, and the iPhone reflector with the iPhone Base.

Switching the two can lead to poor game piece recognition, which will inevitably lead to a poor overall game experience.

Yes! Osmo *is compatible* with the ZAGGInvisibleShield, or any similar screen protectors that have the same or less thickness, and don't cover the edges of the device.  Screen protectors that are thicker than the ZAGGInvisibleShield, or cover some of the device edges, are not compatible with Osmo. 

Our red reflector allows the iPad to read the environment below and in front of it. The camera is powered by our pioneering Reflective AI technology, which can read physical movements and real world environments and translate them into the iPad. Pretty cool, eh?

The classic Osmo iPad Base has been designed to hold the iPad at the ideal angle for our computer vision software to facilitate the best playing experience. Due to the different sizes of iPad models available, the Osmo Base has two angle options. Be sure yours is set up with the correct angle by checking the models listed on the base inserts. You'll find details on setting up your Osmo Base on our set up video here.

Many users also like the Osmo Base for general iPad use.

You spoke and we listened! Letter tiles for the Osmo Words game (and the Osmo Bundles or Kits that contain Words), are transitioning to lowercase letters on one side and uppercase on the other in the August 2017 timeframe. This change coincides with the launch of our new and improved game piece storage bins. U.S. customers will start to see the new Words tiles in August 2017, and international customers sometime in Fall of 2017 or Winter of 2018.

Educator Version:

Classroom Kits for educators already include the plastic, teacher's version of lowercase/uppercase letter tiles, and those are available for sale as a separate item also to U.S. educators for $9 USD.  Please submit an online request for if interested in purchasing for your classroom. 

At-home version:

Yes, all of our apps are built with the utmost care for kids to use. Tangram, Words, Newton and Masterpiece are all certified by the kidSAFE® Seal Program. Our newer games will also be certified, but the certification process takes time.

We recommend cleaning the blue marker pouch that comes with the Creative Set/Monster game by hand with soap and water. Alternatively, it can be washed in the dishwasher.

A replacement Yoobi blue pouch for the markers contained in the Creative Set and Creative kit can be purchased in the U.S. on the Yoobi website as well as in retail stores such as Target.

Yoobi markers (both liquid chalk and dry erase) can be purchased in the U.S. on the Yoobi website as well as in retail stores such as Target.

Alternatively, any dry erase or liquid chalk marker will work as well.

In the United States, the Creative Set is $49 USD.

Yes, the blue fuzzy storage pouch can be used as an eraser. We recommend hand washing the pouch with warm water and mild soap.

The dry-erase markers are indeed washable and do not stain. 

The markers included in the Creative Set should last for a long time (unless of course the user is a prolific artist!), but if they run out of their special washable ink you can always get more at www.Yoobi.com/osmo or purchase any dry-erase markers from your local shop.

The Creative Set for Monster, Masterpiece, and Newton includes:

The Yoobi markers do work, we promise! Just follow these steps: before using the markers for the first time, with the cap still on, gently shake the marker for a few seconds to mix the ink. Then, press the marker tip against the board surface until the ink begins to flow. If not flowing yet, repeat.

Oh dear! Not to worry, this is not a result of a malfunction with the marker, but rather oversaturation of the marker tip by pushing down on the marker too many times by the user. You simply need to blot the marker tip on a paper towel to remove the excess ink.

If you lose or break an iPad red reflector, you may purchase a new one on our website (at the bottom of the page, under 'Accessories') for $10 USD.

We're happy to send you replacement Osmo game play piece free of charge (within reason).

Please follow these steps:

1. log into your myOsmo account (if you do not see your name on the home page, it means that you're not logged into your account; please make sure to log in);
2. click on your name in the top right corner;
3. select "Replacements" from the dropdown menu and fill out the form.

We'll send you an email confirmation that we received your request, as well as a notification once it ships.

Please note that the Osmo game play pieces are a choking hazard and are therefore not for children under 3 years of age.

Further, several game piece sets contain magnets, which can cause serious injury or death if ingested. Seek immediate medical attention if magnets are swallowed or inhaled.

We have found during product testing that a wet towel or wet paper towel are sufficient to remove any Yoobi dry erase marker residue.

Please note that a white board cleaner and/or alcohol can also be used if needed.

If for any reason that does not work in your case, please do let us know so that we can take the appropriate corrective action. 

We know little fingers can get prints on your Osmo reflector. To clean it, we recommend that you follow this advice on cleaning Apple products and peripherals:

To clean the pieces, gently wipe them with a damp cloth, being careful not to soak the cardboard. 

Other pieces can be gently wiped as well. Try not to let anything inside the movable pieces (in the Coding games).
