Any time an app crashes, it's good practice to close all open apps before trying again:
iPads: Double tap the home button to view all open apps, then press and swipe up on each app window to close them. If your iPad doesn't have a home button, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to view all open apps.
Fire tablets: Tap the white square at the bottom of the screen to view all open apps, then press and swipe to either side on each app window to close them.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, please uninstall the app, restart your device, and then reinstall the app again. Additionally, we highly recommend updating your device to the most recent operating system version to ensure the Osmo apps are able to run at their best.
